Banking, Mortgages and Equity FinancingMr. Higgs has retired from the active practice of law after nearly 40 years. Requests for consultations, arbitrations, mediations, and expert witness testimony are considered on a case-by-case basis. Especially in the banking and finance industries, the intricacies of modern commercial transactions demand knowledgeable and timely legal assistance. Mr. Higgs provided legal services in a number of substantive areas of the law to a variety of commercial banks, savings banks, credit unions, finance companies and other lenders. Mr. Higgs closed thousands of loan transactions, ranging from small home equity loans to multi-million-dollar commercial transactions involving complicated financing and legal issues. he represented both borrowers and creditors in commercial transactions, and he frequently assisted and represented lenders in protecting their interests in complex financing arrangements. He prepared and/or revised loan documents and commercial paper, closed commercial transactions, assisted in workout transactions, and in litigation.
